The Inner Child is the part of us that carries our early emotions, memories, and unmet needs. It’s that younger version of you who may have felt vulnerable — hurt, ignored, ashamed, guilty, not fully accepted, and a lot more — and even as adults, those old feelings can still affect us today — it can show up as self-doubt, being too hard on ourselves, fear of failure, perfectionism, constantly putting things off or any other patterns that often come from trying to protect ourselves from pain or discomfort we once felt.
